Most of us are familiar with the incomplete poem from the FASA game about the naked stars. I have seen once in a fan publication a long version. I realize this was a fan creation, but that got me to thinking that probably more than one person has tackled the task of completing this work. Does anyone have copies of a longer version? I can not remember where I saw the one I read. I'm sure I have it burried in a box in storage somewhere and will try to find it and post it here. Imagine how long a poem we could end up with if there are multiple versions, written at different times. Then of course that could lead to new verses beiung put up right here. Hmmmmmm.

I have been reminded by some that in order to actually discuss this poem I should post a copy. So Here it is.

… And though I had slain a thousand foes less one,
The thousandth knife had found my liver;
The thousandth enemy said to me

"Now you shall die, and none shall know."

And the fool looking down believed this,
Not seeing, above his shoulder,
the naked stars,

Each one remembering.

The longer version that I remember was I think in an old copy of the fanzine Agonizer. I know that the FASA portion was the end of the longer version, but I don't remember much more about it. If I find it first I will post it here. But I am thinking that this could be even a middle verse of some epic poem older than all the living warriors in the empire.
