Klingon Frequently Asked Questions

How can I learn more about making my own Klingon costume or prosthetic forehead and make-up?

The KIDC has instituted the "Klingon Imperial Costumers Guild" which has several resources, forums and mailing lists in which you can join (for free) and participate by asking your questions, sharing your experiences, and even posting photos of your projects-in-progress and completed works. Please visit the "Klingon Guilds" section of our website to access more information on how to become a member and participate within the Guild.

How can I find out more about Klingon weapons, such as the "Sword of Honor" or "bat'leth"?

Another one of the KIDC's sister groups is the "Klingon Imperial Weapons Guild", a private organization dedicated to the preservation of the ancient art of Klingon bladed weaponry. You can find out more information about the KIWG by visiting the "Klingon Guilds" section of the KIDC website.

How can I get in touch with Klingon clubs or groups in my local area?

There are many Klingon organizations and clubs around the globe, many of which can be contacted through their websites. The KIDC has researched and organized a number of resources which can prove helpful in your search. Use our "Klingon CommNet" to find out more about Klingon forums and mailing lists to which you can post your query. In particular, our "Klingon Community" mailing list, and the new and very popular KIDC Klingon Imperial Forums could prove quite useful in your search.

Please be sure to mention your exact geographical area, including state/province and country -- otherwise you are unlikely to receive much feedback from other Klingons. You might also want to consider checking out a local science fiction/fantasy or Star Trek convention in your area; local SF groups often have members attending these events, sometimes even in costume, so it should be easy to make contact with them. Also check out the flyer distribution table or poster area, as these groups generally have publicity materials available. Lastly, why not consider becoming a member of the Klingon Imperial Diplomatic Corps? We have members all over the world and are presently looking to launch several new chapters/ships and foreign outposts. You will find all the information you'll need, as well as a free downloadable application kit in our KIDC Club Info section.
